Why did this particular passage grab your attention?
This particular quote caught my attention the most as it brought back memories from last term in which I did exactly what the quote says with a team of 3 collaborators in which we created a data analysis/web development project for our Software Design course.
Similar to what the quotes imply, we as a team had to sit down, think, design, and implement our vision for the project. Collaborating closely was one of the keys to achieving our goals. Although we came up with many great ideas for implementing every thing, there came a time when we had to negotiate who had to do what and when. With the skillset we had brought into the course, I tackled the User-interface along with some backend development using Python, HTML, and CSS, while my other teammates worked on the user experience by implementing javascript and more of Python to make it interactive so that data could be assessed using PostgreSQL.
Although this experience was great and I was able to accomplish the goals of the project, I want to do the same this term and learn new things such as 3D modeling, making blogs, and making interactive UX/UI, along with other cool things to put on my final projects.
What elements of your past experiences, current interests, or future plans did it kindle?
Similar to what I said in the previous paragraph, I have some experience in working and collaborating on group projects and I want to continue this journey as part of being a student as well as my professional career in becoming a software engineer or a cyber security technician.
In regards to my plans, it kindled the idea of my continuation in making more complex projects for my computer science major which will hopefully pay off, in becoming an intern and collaborating in the group, with the ultimate results of landing a job in the future.
Under the large umbrella of Digital (Arts &) Humanities, which areas of inquiry, methods or techniques are you most eager to pursue this term and why?
Some areas of inquiry, methods or techniques that I am most eager to pursue this term are Interactive Digital Data Visualization, website presentation, UI/UX interface, research, and just learning new skills and experience more of the digital side of humanities.
