Carleton College Course Catalogs
Format
In this project, we will rely on Carleton College course catalogs as our primary sources. While most of the catalogs are scanned PDFs of physical course catalogs, the catalogs from 2011-2024 are available in actual PDF versions. For the scanned PDFs, we will use softwares to convert them into text which will allow us to extract the necessary data.
Rights
The Carleton College Archives department owns all the material that we will be utilizing for our project. We have been granted access to the data and allowed to use it in our project, subject to certain restrictions. Some records may be restricted for specified periods of time by federal law, college policy, or donor stipulation. However, in all other respects, the collection is open to all persons equally, regardless of affiliation with Carleton College.
Privacy / Ethics
The data includes information about Carleton College students, including their full names. However, to ensure anonymity, we won’t be attaching any names to the data when we use it.
