GIS Lab and Thoughts

I chose to make a map that shows where at Carleton I have made ramen while I’ve been a student here. Click here to see that map! I used this CSV file that I created to map the locations of the five buildings I have made ramen in the most while I have been here. During this process, I discovered that the base map that I chose in ArcGIS uses a slightly different coordinate system from the one that Google Maps uses. Because of this, there are a few locations where the pin does not line up with the building. This was a fun activity to do to visualize everywhere I have made ramen, as I make ramen very frequently. I love using ESRI’s products and hope to keep learning how to analyze spatial data.
