For my map’s points, I chose all the places that I visited and they mean a lot to me. I chose the dorms where I live or visit frequently to see my friends. I also chose Olin and Goul Library since I spend my time at them studying all the time. The fact that I was able to use the location of my choice allowed me to be more engaged in the assignment and more fun. In addition, I believe that the potential of web mapping for DH work is very promising as it can greatly assist the study of DH by allowing us to use the map to do more research on the location and building we want to know more about or allow us to make a better project when we present our findings to others. Although in this course we did not go too in-depth into the other cool features we can do in the ArcGis, there must be several other cool helpful, and interesting features to help us with the project. This lab was another good example of why people who study humanities should take advantage of the technology we have for themselves.
