DGAH Lab 5: Using ArcGIS

This lab features work using the ArcGIS platform. In this lab I select 5 places that I frequently visit on campus. From this information I attempt to find patterns. I noticed that I tend to spend most of my time on the west-side of campus near where my “home” is. I also tend to spend time with friends in areas that I don’t have class in.

The ArcGIS platform has lots of capabilities and potential uses. I can imagine it being used for potential economic studies. I imagine it could be used to show changes in areas through history concerning economic data. I also think it could be used to show the movement of people and wealth throughout history or the impact that additional developments may have on a region or area.
