I created a mug that I have, and I think it was overall pretty easy to create the basic shapes of the mug, but it was difficult for me to get the mug to look realistic. I think this was in part because I think I was not familiar with the different tools that I could have used, but I did play around a little bit and was able to discover a few helpful tools. For example, the bottom of my mug was open at first, but I would able to join two different elements together to get it to be closed at the bottom. One of the elements that bogged me down the most was the handle of the mug because I couldn’t get the handle in the exact center for some reason, but after I kept trying to move it, I realized I had to compromise and leave it a little off-centered because I thought it was pretty close to my actual mug. I also think I should have made the handle of my mug have more curved edges because it still looks a little rectangular in my images. I think that this tool could be used in researching the environment because I noticed that one of the materials you could use for a design was water, and I think it would be interesting to study that. I also think that this would be very valuable for teaching about certain ancient artifacts because I think it is a lot more valuable to look at a 3D model, rather than just an image. One tip that I used was searching for colors in the materials tab, so that I could find all the materials that were the color I needed, rather than looking through all the materials, so it helped me save a good amount of time with the appearance.
