This charter is a document of our values that we will uphold throughout this final project. It will contain the values, accountability, conflict solving, personal goals and references that we will use for this project and we will do our best to abide by our definitions for each of these goals. But the most important thing is to be able to make a comfortable environment for all of the group members, and allow them to apply their skills they have learned throughout this term for this art project. We will meet up several times throughout the term and keep each other informed on what we are doing.
Values
- We understand that each member has their own strengths and thus will work together to support where other members have weaknesses. We will treat each other, and any outside references, with respect and communicate our concerns with each other. We will use the skills that we have learned thus far to positively contribute to society. We are all doing this project because we share a similar value for campus pride, art, and visualization of data. A goal for our final project will be to be able to express and show these values in our final presentation.
Accountability
- We have divided the tasks within each of the members of the group, and they are expected to finish their task.
- If anyone has concerns or problems they can message in the groupchat or set up a meeting.
- Everyone is expected to constantly share their progress and ideas. Communication is key!
- We will also be expecting each member to complete their work on time.
Conflict Solving
- If there is a conflict, depending on how critical the problem is, we will either discuss it in our group chat or meet in person to resolve the issues.
- The members are expected to listen to any issues that may arise for other members, and to help come up with a positive solution that everyone agrees upon.
- Depending on the severity of the problem we will meet up with Austin and discuss a potential solution with him.
Personal goals
- Wesley- Be able to use the skills that we have learned throughout the class and apply them into this project. I also want to make a better effort doing extra outside learning for the tools that we use and learn about in class and in projects. [
- Sho – Become a better team and communicator. Seek to contribute to the team while practicing the skills we learned in this course. Personally, I am worried about the presentation so I want to make sure to understand our work to be able to explain them with confidence.
- Janet – Sure, I’d like a project that’s presentable and something I’m proud of that I can show after this class finishes, but getting there takes time management and team communication efforts that I aim to improve. As an artist, I’d love to explore data visualization as a creative medium of telling a story.
