Since the dataset was a list of the 10 most popular baby names and we were given information such as the names rank, year, gender, name, and count, I decided that for this data visualization lab that I would use a line chart visualize the names. I included the years, the amount, the name, and the gender and the line chart allowed me to neatly present the data. I also used different colors for male and female and I also added dots that correlated with the year so it would be easier to see at which points on the lines match up with the years. I also added the year on the y-axis and the count on the x-axis so that it would be easier to see when certain names see a significant change and by how much. My visualization relates to Digital Humanities because it uses data collected from the public and uses technology to show a more digestible view of the data. This allows more people to use and be able to understand the data compared to if it was left in its original format.
