Hi Wesley. This graph is super cool! I especially liked your thoughtful commentary connecting cover art frequency to your knowledge of the X-Men franchise and character popularity. I also think it would be interesting to see the impact of the Wolverine movies on Wolverine’s cover art appearances. For covers with more than one character pictured, like the one you used on the website, were all characters included in the analysis? Or was it just the most prominent character?
This is a super cool project! I really like the use of the chord diagram to represent the data. I think the picture you included at the top of the website was helpful in showing an example of the data in the project. I’m also curious how the data was collected and if more than one character was counted per cover.
I’m impressed with your data visualization and analysis. The effort put into understanding the connection between character appearances on comic covers and the artists behind them is shown to be well thought out from the data. I had no idea how chord graphs worked but this gave an easy-to-understand analysis. Good work!
